Driver faces marijuana charge in Fairfield
Stopped for having a defective headlight on his car, Vincente Leal, 31, was later charged with possession of marijuana, along with several motor vehicle charges including operating without a license.
When Leal, of Martin Terrace, Bridgeport, was stopped in the train station parking lot on Unquowa Road, an officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana. According to the report, Leal admitted to have a marijuana cigarette in his pocket, along with a package of rolling papers.
He was unable to prodice a driver's license because he was never issued one, police said, and his brother brought his Mexican ID and passport to headquarters for identification.
Leal was released on a promise to appear Dec. 28 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
