Driver found on golf course charged with DUI
Tudormatie E. Boran, 20, of Lloyd Street, New Haven, was charged on a warrant Monday in connection with a car accident last December that ended with him lying on the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and his car in nearby woods.
A golfer found Boran about 50 yards away from his crashed car, and Boran told police the accident took place ometime after midnight, possibly around 2 a.m. The golfer came upon Boran around 10 a.m.
According to the report, Boran said he'd been experimenting with prescription drugs and after, taking too many pills, tried to find a place to park his car.
Following the accident, Boran was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport for treatment. He turned himself in at Police Department headquarters Monday and was charged with driving under the influence, failure to drive right, failure to keep drugs in the original container and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear March 7 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
