A 75-year-old woman attempting to park her car Thursday in the Dunkin' Donuts lot at 1910 Black Rock Turnpike hit the accelerator instead of the brakes, police said, causing the car to surge into the heavily traveled roadway and knocking over a passing van.

No one was injured in the 1 p.m. accident, although the van skidded on its side for about 30 feet after the collision, police said.

The woman, Suzanne Godleski, who lives on North Avenue in Bridgeport, told police that she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing her car to jump the curb and strike a rear passenger side of a van driven by Rodrigo Deaquino-Marquez.

A 34-year-old resident of Berwick Avenue, Deaquino-Marquez was driving a van owned by Cabals Painting.

Godleski was issued a ticket for failure to drive right, while Deaquino-Marquez was given a ticket for driving without a license.
