Police doing surveillance in the parking lot of the Sportsplex, 85 Mill Plain Road, on Friday evening observed what they believed was a drug transaction between two men -- one of whom was later charged with driving under the influence.
A man, later identified as Kristian Bogacki, 27, of Coral Drive, got out of his pickup truck and entered another car, where the two appeared to make an exchange.
Bogacki was later seen driving in a reckless manner on Burroughs Road, and was stopped. He admitted that he had just injected heroin, according to police. He failed field sobriety tests, police said, and was arrested for driving under the influence.
He was released after posting a $100 and is scheduled to appear Sept. 9 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
