ERNEST MILES DUNLAP JR.

Ernest Miles Dunlap Jr., 86, of Fairfield and Jensen Beach, Fla., the husband of the late Rita Norton Dunlap, died April 1, 2010, at Bridgeport Hospital, with his family by his side.
Born in Arlington, Mass., to the late Ernest M. Dunlap Sr. and Isabel McFall Dunlap, he attended Roger Ludlowe High School and was a graduate of the Grail School and Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served as a medical assistant. After college, he worked in the real estate industry and went on to establish his own real estate office, The Ernest M. Dunlap Real Estate Agency. Over the years, Dunlap served as president of the Fairfield and Bridgeport Board of Realtors; and was chairman of the Housing Authority and the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of Fairfield. He was very proud to be named president of the President's Circle at Fairfield University.
During his many years, Dunlap was an active member of the Algonquin Club, the Black Rock Yacht Club, the Patterson Club and Fayerweather Yacht Club. He was also involved in the Lion's Club, the Fidelity- St. John's Lodge, No. 3 A.F. & A.M. and the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Bridgeport.
For the last 20 years, he lived in Florida, where he had a great group of friends that he loved. He enjoyed his years on the beach and on the mountains.
He is survived by his two daughters, Martha Dunlap Hibbs and her husband, Walter H. Hibbs III, and Lauri Dunlap Grill and her husband, Norman G. Grill Jr., both of Fairfield; and four grandchildren, Sean Miles Hibbs, Blair Rita Hibbs, Tyler Norton Grill and his wife, Erin, and Chad Garrett Grill.
He was predeceased by his former wife, Sharon Dunlap.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service in celebration of his life at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church on Monday, April 5, at 11 a.m.
