Eagle Hill-Southport, the school for children with learning disabilities, has planned its annual spring benefit on Saturday evening, May 4, at the school.
The event, Heroes Spring Gala, will honor students who struggle with learning disabilities "but have the courage, faith and determination to tackle each school day with fervor," headmaster Ben Powers said in a news release.
Tickets are $125, $250 and $500 and are available by calling the school at 203-254-2044. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
The gala will have a Greek theme, and The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Bridgeport is lending props from its annual Greek festival to supplement decorations designed party organizers.
Greek food will be served, and a DJ will provide music.
Proceeds of a live auction will benefit the school and financial aid.
Items to be auctioned include three nights at the Grotto Bay Beach Resort in Bermuda, with rounds of golf at the Mid-Ocean Beach Club; a $1,000 gift certificate to the clothier Mitchell's of Westport; a bottle of Chateau Lafitte Rothschild 1993; mountain get-aways to Stratton, Vt. and Beaver Creek, Colo.; a cooking class for six with John Barricelli of SoNo Baking Co. LLC; dinner for six catered by chef Leo Moscato; a round of golf at Winged Foot Golf Club on Long Island; and tickets to various professional sporting events.
Eagle Hill-Southport is at 214 Main St., Southport.
