Elsie Deschler Cobb, 97, died Dec. 3, 2010, at the Carolton Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield.

Born on May 13, 1913, in Basel, Switzerland, she came to the United States at the age of 7 with her parents, Henry and Anna Deschler. She attended Packard Junior College, and for many years, was the secretary to the headmaster at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Later in her career, she was the executive secretary for the founder of the Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler Law firm in New York City. She retired in 1980 and moved to Fairfield, where she lived in the Mosswood Condominiums. She had been a member of the Fairfield Historical Society, the Fairfield Women's Exchange and St. Paul's Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dwight Cobb and his wife, Dawn, of Fairfield and Brooke Cobb and his wife, Dixie, of Naples, Fla.; six grandchildren, Dana, Dale and Devin Cobb, all of Fairfield, Alex Cobb and his wife, Barbara, of Weston, Mass., Andy Cobb and his wife, Amanda, of Maplewood, N.J., and Brooke Cobb and her husband, Paul, of New York City; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Elizabeth Cobb of Weston, Mass.
