Emil J. Judge, of Southport, died July 24.

Born in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the Emil and Elizabeth Judge. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

With his wife Maxine, he established the Judge Tool Sales Co., which remains in business today.

An avid golfer, he belonged to the Patterson Club and the Pasadena Country Club in Florida. He also was a lifetime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a member of the Fairfield Sportsman Club, enjoying its yearly trips to Lakeville and Rangeley, Maine.

Survivors include two daughters, Gwen Palmer and her husband, Joseph. of Fairfield and Barbara MacWilliams and her husband, William, of Macon, Ga.; two stepchildren, Hank Hoffman and his wife, Jane, of Wallingford and Jeff Hoffman and his wife, Leila, of Durham; seven grandchildren, Bill, David, Todd and John MacWilliams and Chris, Steven and Joe Palmer; five step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and three great, great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Maxine, as well as his second wife, Wilma; a sister, Margaret Beaudette, and a stepson, Peter.
