Emma Pofok Remar, 97, of Fairfield, wife of the late Albert Remar, died Oct. 9, 2010.
Born in Watertown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Julia Sabo Pofok. A resident of Fairfield for more than 50 years, she was a retired clerk for Bridgeport Metal Goods. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First United Church of Christ, in Bridgeport, where she was involved in the Noodle Group and Golden Agers.
She enjoyed preparing Hungarian foods, gardening, clamming on Long Island Sound and salt and fresh water fishing.
Survivors include two brothers, Paul Pofok of Fairfield and Steve Pofok of New York; a sister, Katherine Taga of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews, including James and Gerri Szabo of Stratford, William and Carol Halkovic of East Haven, Priscilla Halkovic of Milford, Peggy and Rick Eklund of California, and Don and Nada Halkovic of California. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Lotan, and a sister, Matilda.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
