Espresso maker's U.S. operation settles into Meadow Street

The U.S. operation for an Italian espresso equipment maker and a Colorado Internet marketing firm have taken the last available 6,000 square feet in a Meadow Street office building in Fairfield.

Cimbali USA, a division of Italy's Cimbali Group, has agreed to lease 3,600 square feet in 418 Meadow St. Cimbali will move its U.S. headquarters about 1.7 miles from its building at 1172 Post Road in Fairfield later.

The company is famous for its espresso machines, but it also makes grinders, refrigeration units and dishwashers for the restaurant industry.

Finding tenants in this economy can be difficult, but Brett Sherman, senior vice president of Angel Commercial LLC, said 418 Meadow is a good example that the fundamentals of ownership remain the key to success for owners.

"Landlords are taking care of the property and doing what is needed to be done to attract tenants," he said.

Sherman said new owners came into the Meadow Street property and invested money in it and have kept rents competitive.

BAO Partners LLC acquired the building in January of this year, though one of the partners has held a stake in the property since 2010, according to Vision Appraisal's website.

What tenants like about the building is that it is a very functional buildings in a great location, Sherman said.

The building is within half a mile of Super Duper Weenie on Black Rock Turnpike and the Staples Plaza. The Black Rock Holiday Inn is a neighboring building, and there is easy access to the Post Road and Interstate 95.

Joining Cimbali is Ifficient Inc., an Internet marketing firm established in 2010 and headquartered in Denver.
