Esther Everts Huether, 95, of Lecanto, Fla., and a former Southport resident, died April 26.

Born June 18, 1915, she was a long-time resident of Spruce Street in Southport and of Englewood, Fla.

She was a homemaker who had worked as a seamstress in the fabrics department of the D.M. Read Co. For 65 years she was a member of the Women's Guild of the Southport Congregational Church. She was a past historian of the church, where her family had been members for many generations before her. She enjoyed cooking, golfing, fishing and gardening.

She was predeceased by her husband Lester (Paul) of 71 years; a son Lance, and two brothers, Franklin and Royal.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Jeffrey Huether and his wife Carole of Geneva, N.Y.; a daughter, Bonnie Yanosy and her husband Gene of Hernando, Fla.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She will be buried at a later date at Oak Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Southport Congregational Church's Music Fund. The Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield is handling arrangements.
