The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will host a free half-hour informational seminar on the Federal Emergency Management Act and contractors at 4:30 Friday, Nov. 16, in the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Topics will include hiring and interviewing contractors, obtaining necessary permits, dealing with insurance adjusters and stopping mold growth, according to a release. Inspections, restoration, coverage from wind and flood insurance, the cost of compliance and how to register with the act and what it does will also be discussed.

A question-and-answer period will follow the seminar, which will take place in partnership with chamber members LCP Contractors and Boccarossa Insurance.
