Frank J. Lanzo, 83, of Fairfield, the husband of Anne Lanzo, died May 14, 2010, with his family by his side.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he was the son of Frank and Marianne Lanzo.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Lanzo served in World War II on the battleship Wisconsin, in the South Pacific. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of a distributorship for Frito-Lay.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Anne Costello and her husband, Michael, and Janmarie Lanzo-Bovino and her husband, Robert; two grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Costello, all of Fairfield; a brother, Edward of Bedminster, Pa.; three sisters, Theresa Lanzo of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., Lenora Clark and her husband, Joseph of Yonkers, N.Y., and Marie Toppi and her husband, Ken of Carlsbad, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph, and two sisters, Anne Naplione and Louise Lanzo.

Lanzo was a member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club, the Senior Group at H. Smith Richardson Golf Course and Port 5. He was a former member of Mill River Country Club.

A gentle, friendly and kind man who always had a smile on his face, Lanzo will always be known for his passion of golf and love for his family. He enjoyed the beach, sailing, fine wines and traveling, especially to California.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield; interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield.
