Fairfield CERT team adds 23 members

Twenty-three people were officially added to the ranks of Fairfield's Community Emergency Response Team on with the conclusion of the 2011 CERT Basic Training Class at the Fairfield Regional Fire School. That followed 10 weeks of Saturday classes and on topics that included disaster medical services including triage and basic first aid, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, fire safety, incident command system, terrorism, and personal disaster preparedness.
CERT members may be called on to assist in emergencies and disasters. CERT classes are free, but enrollment is limited. Those interested should call 203-255-3554 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
