"New" was the order of the evening Wednesday at the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting.

New members of the chamber's board of directors were introduced at the gathering, which took place in the new Delamar Southport, a boutique hotel in the Southport Green complex.

The new board members include: Este Zarlenga of Charles Schwab & Co., Michael Gness of Edward Jones Investments, Lisa (Lou) Joaquim of the Trek Bicycle Store of Fairfield, and Beth Carter of Carter Consultants Ltd.

Andy S. Aziz of Payzone LLC is the new chairman of the board, while George Szondy of Abbey Tent & Party Rentals is first vice chairman.

Attendees also got a chance to check out the new hotel, which opened about two weeks ago.

The three-story structure with 45 guest rooms is owned by the Greenwich Hospitality Group, which also owns the Delamar on Greenwich Harbor and the Hotel Zero Degrees in Stamford.

The group acquired the hotel last December after it stood partially completed for several years, when the entire Southport Green development was foreclosed on.
