Fairfield Public Library will conduct a five-part literary humor writing workshop 7 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 31, Nov. 7, 14, 21 and 28, in the Main Library's Memorial Room, 1080 Old Post Road.

The workshop, led by writer Ryan Sartor, will provide an opportunity for local writers to take a look at their own writing from a comedic perspective, according to the library.

It will include writing exercises in class and readings and discussions of the work of present-day literary humor writers.

Sartor has written and directed several short films and written for Ion Cinema, as well as a weekly column for The Pioneer. He also served as lead editor for the literary magazine, The Pitkin Review, and is completing a master's degree in fine arts in creative writing from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vt.
