A 24-year-old paraprofessional at Fairfield Ludlowe High School faces several after he allegedly dragged a female student down a hallway at the school last May.

John Nuzzolo, of Moose Hill Road in Oxford, was arrested on a warrant Monday charging him with second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident involving a 17-year-old Ludlowe student.

According to the report, the May 29 incident was witnessed by several people. The victim told police that Nuzzolo, who was working as a paraprofessional at the school, approached her in the hallway as classes were changing and began a conversation. Then, he grabbed her backpack and dragged her about 30 feet, police said. She screamed and yelled for him to stop, which he did, and then walked away, the report states.

School officials said that after learning about the incident, Nuzzolo was immediately put on paid administrative leave. He resigned from his job shortly afterward, they said.

He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Aug. 25 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
