Fairfield's animal control officers are asking for help in locating a dog that bit a man around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday near Tunxis Hill Road and Whitewood Drive.

The victim told police he was unloading a truck when three young girls, around 12 years old, walked by with a medium-sized black dog on a leash. As they approached, the dog bit the man on the thigh, though he didn't realize he'd received a small puncture wound until later.

The dog needs to be identified in order to verify if it has received its rabies vaccine.

Anyone with information is asked to call 203-254-4857.
