Fairfield forecast: A chancy outlook, except for Saturday

There's a "chance" that any outdoor plans today -- and for most of the next few days -- might not work out.
That's because, with the exception of tomorrow, the National Weather Service predicts there is a chance of rain at least part of every day through early next week.
Today, according to the NWS, there is a chance of light rain until about 3 p.m. Skies will be cloudy and the daytime high temperature will be about 52 degrees. There will be a north wind of 5 to 8 mph, becoming south.
Tonight, there is a slight chance of light rain before 11 p.m. and the temperature will fall to a low of about 37 degrees.
Saturday is the bright change in this "chancy" forecast for the next few days, with sunny skies and a high of about 57 degrees. There should be an east wind at 8 mph, becoming south. But clouds move in at night, with a low temperature of about 40 degrees.
On Sunday, there is again a slight chance of light rain after 9 a.m. The day is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. Rain is also a possibility Sunday night after 8 p.m., accompanied by patchy fog overnight into early Monday. The low temperature should be about 50 degrees.
And more rain is a possibility Monday morning, and even though skies will be mostly cloudy, the weather service predicts the daytime high temperature could rise into the low-70s.
