Fairfield forecast: A 'chancy' weekend

This could be a stormy afternoon in southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms -- some possibly severe -- could take place this afternoon and evening, the NWS says in issuing a "Hazardous Weather Outlook" for the region.
Otherwise, today is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature in the low-80s and a northeast wind around 7 mph, then becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible tonight as well, as the temperature dips to the upper-60s. Patchy fog also is expected to settle in parts of the region overnight.
Tomorrow, there remains a chance of showers, with thunderstorms after noon. The day will be cloudy and temperatures will rise to the low-80s. Storms remain a slight possibility tomorrow night as the temperature registers a low in the upper-60s.
On Monday, skies will be partly sunny, although there is a slight chance of storms by afternoon. The temperature will be in the low-80s. The overnight low, as skies turn mostly cloudy, will be in the upper-60s.
The outlook for Tuesday, according to the weather service, is again for possible showers and thunderstorms, with a high temperature about 80 degrees.
