Fairfield forecast: A nice day ... and holiday outlook

Sunny skies today set the tone for a generally upbeat weather outlook through the Fourth of July holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The daytime high temperature should reach about 80 degrees in southwestern Connecticut, the NWS says, with a west wind between 8 and 11 mph.
Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 60 degrees. A northwest wind will be between 6 and 8 mph.
Tomorrow brings a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the NWS says. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 78 degrees. Tomorrow night should be partly cloudy, with a low around 64 degrees.
Saturday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 81. But there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms overnight.
There remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday morning. Skies the rest of the day should be partly sunny, with a high near 87 degrees. A slight chance of precipitation continues Sunday night.
On Monday, Independence Day, the weather service's outlook is mostly sunny skies, with a high near 86 degrees.
