Southwestern Connecticut's weekend continues to bask in a second day of glorious summer weather.

The National Weather Services says, like yesterday, the skies will be sunny and clear, and the daytime high temperature should rise into the low-80s. Calm winds will be from the east at about 7 mph.

Tonight will also be clear, with a low around 68 degrees.

Tomorrow, the work week begins on a mostly sunny note, with a high near 82 degrees. Overnight, however, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight, the NWS says. Skies will become mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.

Tuesday the chance of showers and thunderstorms continues, more likely in the afternoon. Skies will otherwise be partly sunny, with a high near 86 degrees. The NWS rates the odds of precipitation at 40 percent.

The forecast brightens for Wednesday, according to the weather service, with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s.
