Fairfield forecast: A sunny Sunday, but waiting on rain

Today is expected to be mostly sunny and warmer in southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
The daytime high should be about 46 degrees and a north wind should be calm, registering between 3 and 11 mph.
Overnight, however, rain and sleet are likely, mainly after 3 a.m. with a low around 34. Little or no snow accumulation is expected, according to the NWS.
Tomorrow, rain is expected to gain intensity and thunderstorms are possible after 10 a.m. The high should be about 50 degrees, with an east wind 11 to 16 mph becoming west. The rainfall may continue tomorrow night, with a slight chance of snow later. Temperatures will fall to about 30 degrees. It will also be blustery, with a north wind between 13 and 20 mph, gusting as high as 31 mph.
Tuesday should be sunny, with a high near 39 degrees, the NWS says. Nighttime will be clear as the temperature falls to the freezing mark.
Wednesday should also be mostly sunny, the weather service predicts, with the temperature rising to a high near 44 degrees.
