Today, like the last several days, patches of dense fog envelope parts of southwestern Connecticut, but skies should start clearing by late morning.

The National Weather Service predicts that, after the fog and clouds clear, the day will be mostly sunny and the high temperature should be about 70 degrees. Wind will be calm, becoming south between 4 and 7 mph.

Patches of fog will return late tonight, the NWS says, and conditions will be mostly cloudy as the temperature falls to about 50 degrees.

Tomorrow, early-morning fog is expected to burn off by late morning and temperatures will again rise to 70 degrees -- and possibly above. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-50s.

On Friday, skies will be partly sunny with a high temperature in the low-70s. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-40s.

The outlook for Saturday, the weather service predicts, is for cloudy skies and a high temperature in the upper-50s.
