Showers are possible later today across southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.

The light rain -- and possibly thunderstorms -- are most likely at midday and early afternoon as the daytime high temperature rises to about 60 degrees. There will be a west wind between 7 and 15 mph.

Tonight, there remains a slight chance of showers before 9 p.m., and skies should be mostly cloudy as the temperature falls to a low about 40 degrees. There will be a northwest wind between 8 and 13 mph.

Tomorrow, there is a chance of showers after 11 a.m. under mostly cloudy skies as temperatures rise to a high in the upper-50s. Nighttime will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-30s, the NWS says.

On Thursday, afternoon could bring more showers. Otherwise, the day is expected to be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-50s. Overnight, skies turn partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-30s.

The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is for sunny skies and a high temperature about 60 degrees.
