After a damp and cloudy start, skies will clear today across southwestern Connecticut as the temperature climbs to a high of about 50 degrees.

Tonight should be clear and the overnight low will be about 39 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a slight chance of rain after noon tomorrow, with increasing cloudiness and a daytime high temperature near 49. More rain is possible tomorrow night, mainly before midnight.

There should be a longer break in the rainy-and-cloudy cycle on Saturday, the NWS says, with sunny skies and a high temperature near 51 degrees. There will be an east wind of 7 to 9 mph, then becoming south. By Saturday night, however, there is a chance of light rain after 10 p.m. There will be fog overnight, with a low of 48 degrees.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 55.
