Today, like the last several, get under way with foggy conditions across southwestern Connecticut, and there is a potential for rain this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The region should see a daytime high temperature of about 65 degrees.

There's a chance of showers tonight, mainly after 9 p.m., as fog moves in again and the temperature falls to a low of about 57 degrees.

Tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms are in the NWS forecast, which in a "hazardous weather outlook" also warns the storms could be severe with the potential for heavy rain, strong winds and hail.

Skies are expected to be mostly cloudy with a daytime high of about 66 degrees. A south wind should register between 14 and 18 mph.

More showers and thunderstorms are possible before midnight tomorrow, then gradually clearing. The nighttime low temperature is expected to be about 50 degrees.

Friday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 63, the weather service predicts.
