Fairfield forecast: More rain, storms possible

After a day of clouds and periodic rain, more of the same is on tap today for the region, according to the National Weather Service.
Southwestern Connecticut could see showers -- and even thunderstorms -- throughout the day, with the daytime high temperature rising to the mid-60s. Skies will be cloudy, and there will be a southeast around 6 mph. Chance of daytime precipitation is about 70 percent.
Tonight, more showers and thunderstorms are possible as the temperature dips to a low of about 50 degrees. Patchy fog may settle in parts of the area overnight. Odds of overnight precipitation are about 30 percent, the NWS says.
Tomorrow, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., while the daytime high temperature rises to the low-70s. Overnight precipitation is more likely late tomorrow and early Saturday as the temperature dips to a low in the upper-50s. Chance of overnight precipitation is 60 percent.
On Saturday, more showers are likely with a high temperature in the low-70s. Chance of daytime precipitation is 60 percent. Nighttime odds of precipitation are about 60 percent as the temperature drops to about 50 degrees.
The outlook for Sunday, according to the weather service, is partly sunny and temperatures in the 60s.
