Fairfield forecast: Mostly sunny, but ...

Although skies across southwestern Connecticut today will be mostly sunny, like yesterday there's a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Temperatures could rise to about 90 degrees, while the potential storm threat is greatest after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds.
There's also a chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, primarily before 7 p.m. Clouds will prevail as the nighttime low falls to about 68 degrees.
Tomorrow, the NWS says showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 4 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a daytime high near 73 degrees. There could be more showers and thunderstorms at night, mainly before 8 p.m. as the low temperature dips to about 65 degrees.
The forecast brightens for the weekend.
Saturday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 80. Nighttime should be mostly clear, with a low around 65.
Sunday should be sunny, the weather service predicts, with a high temperature near 82 degrees.
