Fairfield forecast: Nice start to week with storm on the way

Mostly sunny skies today will make for a pleasant start to the work week, according to the National Weather Service, but it also warns that a mid-week storm could change things sharply.
The daytime high temperature in southwestern Connecticut today will rise to about 40 degrees, with a northwest wind 10 to 18 mph.
Tonight, however, will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature about 25 degrees and a northwest wind 9 to 14 mph.
Tomorrow should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 45 degrees and a north wind 8 to 11 mph.
There is a slight chance of snow overnight tomorrow after midnight, the NWS says, as skies turn cloudy and the temperature dips to a low about 30 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
On Wednesday, there is a 40 percent chance of snow before noon, then likely changing to rain. The daytime high temperature will be about 40 degrees, with a northeast wind 16 to 26 mph.
There remains a chance of snow Wednesday night as temperatures register a low of about 30 degrees. Chance of nighttime precipitation is 40 percent, the NWS says.
Thursday also brings a chance of snow before noon, with temperatures rising to a high of about 40 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Nighttime should be partly cloudy, with a low temperature about 30 degrees.
The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the 40s.
