Updated 6:17 am, Wednesday, August 10, 2011
The unsettled weather pattern that triggered periodic downpours across southwestern Connecticut over the last several days has moved on, and the forecast for the rest of the week looks much brighter.
The National Weather Service says that today's daytime high temperature should reach about 83 degrees under mostly sunny skies, with a northwest wind 8 to 13 mph, later becoming southwest.
Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 65 degrees.
Tomorrow will also be sunny, with a high temperature near 79 degrees. The west wind will be between 9 and 11 mph. Tomorrow night will be mostly clear as the temperature falls to round 64 degrees.
Friday should be sunny, with a high near 78 degrees, the NWS says. The overnight low should be about 68 degrees.
The sun should also shine on Saturday, the weather service predicts, with a high temperature in the upper-70s.
