Another day with rain on the horizon is forecast for southwestern Connecticut.

The National Weather Service says today will be cloudy with a slight chance after 3 p.m., as the high temperature crests in the mid-50s. There will be a west wind between 10 and 18 mph.

Chances of rain increase tonight with a low temperature of about 40 degrees.

Rain is also possible tomorrow morning, mainly before noon, according to the NWS. The temperature will rise to about 50 degrees. There will be an east wind between 7 and 10 mph. Nighttime will be cloudy as the temperature falls to a low of 38 degrees.

More rain is possible Friday, particularly after noontime. The skies will be cloudy, with a high near 45 degrees.

The threat of rain continues Friday night, mainly before midnight.

But there's likely to be a break in this rainy week on Saturday, the weather service predicts, as the skies turn sunny, with a high near 49 degrees.
