Light rain is spreading across southwestern Connecticut early this morning -- a day that the National Weather Service predicts will bring more showers, and possibly thunderstorms, later this morning and through the day.

Some of the storms could produce heavy rain and gusty winds, the NWS predicts.

The daytime high temperature is expected to be about 78 degrees.

More showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight, mainly before midnight, the NWS says. It will be cloudy and the low temperature is expected to fall to about 68.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 degrees. Nighttime will also be clear with a low of about 65 degrees.

Sunday should be sunny a daytime high temperature of about 83. Overnight skies will be partly cloudy with a low around 69 degrees.

Monday, the weather service predicts will be mostly sunny, with a high near 82.
