Fairfield forecast: Showery cycle rolls on
The showery conditions that enveloped southwestern Connecticut earlier this week will persist today -- and through the remainder of the week -- according to the National Weather Service.
The chance of rain today increases this afternoon and tonight, the NWS says, as the daytime high temperature reaches about 71 degrees. There will be a north wind at 9 mph, becoming south.
With the growing odds of rain tonight, skies will be cloudy -- patches of fog also are possible -- and the temperature will dip to the low-60s.
Tomorrow, showers are likely, with thunderstorms also possible after noon, the NWS says. Patchy fog is in the forecast before 9 a.m., and skies will be cloudy most of the day. The temperature is expected to hit a high in the mid-70s. Precipitation is also possible tomorrow night, with the temperature falling to the low-60s.
On Friday, cloudy skies and precipitation are again expected, the NWS says. The high temperature will be in the mid-70s. And unsettled conditions mean showers are also possible Friday night.
The potential for wet weather continues Saturday, according to the weather service, with clouds and a high temperature about 72 degrees.
