Fairfield forecast: Warmer & wet
Today is expected to be cloudy but warmer in southwestern Connecticut, with showers possible during afternoon and nighttime.
The National Weather Service says that, after patchy fog clears from parts of the region later this morning, the daytime high temperature will rise to the mid-40s. There is a 20 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m., with a wind around 6 mph.
Showers are also possible tonight, as the temperature dips to a low of about 40 degrees. There also will be patchy fog in parts of the region. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Tomorrow, showers are likely -- with the possibility of the heavy rain and even isolated thunderstorms after 4 p.m. as the temperature rises to the mid-50s. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Stormy conditions are expected overnight tomorrow, with more heavy rain and strong winds in the forecast. The temperature will register a low of about 40 degrees, with a south wind 13 to 20 mph, becoming west after midnight, and gusting as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall could be between 1 and 2 inches.
On Thursday, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-40s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-20s, the NWS says.
Friday should be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-30s. Friday night will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature about 20 degrees.
The outlook for Saturday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 30s.
