The Junior Women's Club of Fairfield will hold its February general meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the Burr Homestead, 739, Old Post Road.

The club will present a to its charitable beneficiary for this year, the Thomas Merton Family Center in Bridgeport, which provides high-risk families with food and clothing and parental and educational support.

The club's contribution represents proceeds from the club's "A Visit to Santa's House" event in December. The club also will continue planning spring projects, including the Town Spelling Bee. Members and guests will also have the opportunity to sign up for upcoming service projects and social activities, including movie nights and mom-and-tot outings.

Open to women in Fairfield and surrounding towns, the club is a non-profit service organization that provides social contact for members and gives them the opportunity to work for the community through fundraisers such as "Touch-A-Truck" and "A Visit To Santa's House." The club said it welcomes prospective members to all general meetings.
