FAIRFIELD — An argument over “relationship issues” led to the arrest early Saturday morning of a Garden Drive resident.
During the argument, police said, Christian Skovgaard, 35, became aggressive and demanded his fiancee give him back her engagement ring. When she refused, he allegedly bent her hand back and tried to take the ring himself. She told police while defending herself, Skovgaard hit her in the head with an open palm.
While officers were at the home, they saw an unlabeled prescription bottle on the counter. In the bottle were two different types of pills, wrapped in cellophane. According to the report, Skovgaard said a co-worker gave him the pills, which he said were for anxiety.
Skovgaard was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance.
He was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Jan. 29.
