Fairfield man charged after driving across lawn of Senor Salsa
FAIRFIELD — A motorist who drove off the road, across the lawn of Senor Salsa, into a sign and some shrubbery and then took off Tuesday night was arrested for driving under the influence.
Jose Bautista-Tomasa, 31, was also charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive right after police located him a short time later in the parking lot Rio Bravo.
A witness flagged down a patrol officer to report that a Honda CRV was driving west on Kings Highway Cut-off, when it left the roadway, hit the curb, and went across the lawn of Senor Salsa. The SUV continued west across the the driveway, and hit a sign and shrubbery, before continuing to the north side of the road. There, the SUV hit a DOT sign, before pulling into the parking lot at CVS.
In the shrubbery, police found the Honda’s license plate and bumper cover.
Bautista-Tomasa failed field sobriety tests. He was held on a $250 bond.
His court date and address were not available.
