Fairfield man's treatment of kids prompts 'risk' charges
A Fairfield man was arrested Sunday after a roadway incident involving his children.
According to a witness from a nearby residence, the man brought his work van to an abrupt halt around 7 p.m. in the middle of the westbound lane on Kings Highway East. He removed his 7-year-old daughter from her car seat and slammed her against his lap. At the same time, he rapped his fist against the dashboard and screamed profanities.
Constantine Labrasciano, 56, of Bungalow Avenue, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and interfering with an officer.
When police arrived, Labrasciano refused to answer questions about the incident. His 6-year-old son reportedly complained of stomach pains caused by the impact of the sudden stop.
Labrasciano was held on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
