FAIRFIELD — A Trumbull man was held on a $100,000 bond for violating a criminal protective order, just months after being released from prison.
Gregg W. Gerathy, 56, of Wheeler Drive, was arrested Jan. 9 and charged with violating the protective order issued for his former girlfriend and first-degree harassment.
Police allege that Gerathy, released after serving 15 months for violating probation, began sending text messages to his ex-girlfriend in December. Gerathy had been sentenced to prison in August 2015. The victim’s attorney contacted police, asking that a full no-contact order be put in place.
Gerathy had previously been arrested by Trumbull Police Department for first-degree unlawful restraint, violation of a protective order, violation of probation and second-degree strangulation.
