A Middletown woman was arrested on a warrant Thursday and charged with credit card theft, credit card fraud, third-degree identity theft and third-degree forgery.
A Palamar Drive resident told Fairfield police that her Discover Card was stolen and several fraudulent charges totaling $341 were made May 19 at various local stores. An attempt to charge a $185 bracelet at a Trumbull jewelry store was declined.
Tonia Brewster, 39, of Loveland Street in Middletown was working at the Angus Steakhouse at that time, and during the investigation, allegedly admitted to police that she took the credit card from the victim's purse when it was left unattended in the restaurant.
She was released on a promise to appear July 14 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
