Short and sweet.

That's the weekend weather forecast for southwestern Connecticut from the National Weather Service.

After a dark and stormy night, the NWS predicts today and tomorrow will be clear and bright.

Today's daytime high temperature will be in the mid-80s under sunny skies, the weather service says. There will be a northwest wind between 6 and 8 mph.

Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 66 degrees. North wind around 8 mph.

The bright outlook holds for tomorrow: sunny and clear skies with a high temperature at about 81 degrees. Tomorrow night will be clear and the temperature will fall to about 69 degrees.

And for the start of the work week Monday, once again the NWS expects mostly sunny skies, with a high near 82 degrees.
