The Fairfield Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting Monday to discuss where its budget will be cut to conform with the $145.7 million approved for the 2011-12 fiscal year.
The school board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the second-floor conference room of the central school offices at 501 Kings Highway East.
The Representative Town Meeting last week gave final approval to the spending package, which is nearly $3 million less than the school board had requested for the fiscal year that starts July 1. The Boards of Selectmen and Finance had imposed overall cuts of about $2 million in the proposed school budget, and the RTM cut $800,000 more.
