Fairfield weather: 2010 ends brightly, but showers may greet 2011

Sunny skies are forecast for this next-to-last day of 2010, according to the National Weather Service, but there is a chance of rain for the first day of 2011 in southwestern Connecticut.
The daytime high temperature today is expected to be about 36 degrees, with a northwest wind between 6 and 8 mph.
Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 29.
Tomorrow, New Year's Eve, should be mostly sunny, with a high near 42 and a west wind between 6 and 8 mph. The new year will likely be greeted under cloudy skies and the temperature should be slightly above freezing.
There is a slight chance of showers Saturday, the first day of 2011, sometime after noon. The day is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 44. The possibility of showers continues into evening,
