The stretch of cold weather that's chilled southwestern Connecticut over the last few days continues. Daytime temperatures through the weekend are not expected to climb above the mid-30s.

Today should be mostly sunny, with a high near 36 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There will be a northwest wind between 13 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Tonight should be mostly clear, with temperatures plunging to a low around 21. A west wind should be clocked between 8 and 11 mph.

Tomorrow is expected to be sunny, with a daytime high near 34 degrees. Winds will be northwest at between 9 and 16 mph.

On Friday, a slight chance of snow showers is forecast after 1 p.m. by the NWS. In general, the day will be partly sunny, with a high near 36 degrees.
