Fairfield weather: T-storm warning fades to nice

The threat of severe thunderstorms hovers over southwestern Connecticut early this morning, according to the National Weather Service, but the dire forecast improves later in the day.
Through midday, the NWS warns Fairfield and the region that there could be both rain and thunderstorms, some oh which could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. There also will be patchy fog between 7 and 9 a.m.
After noontime, there should ne gradual clearing and, by afternoon, the sun should emerge. Temperatures could climb as high as 60 degrees. It will be breezy, too, with wind between 16 and 25 mph, gusting as high as 38 mph.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 43 degrees.
Tomorrow, precipitation is back in the forecast, with a slight chance of showers after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 54 degrees.
There will be a slight chance of rain showers before midnight Thursday, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with temperatures falling into the 30s.
Friday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 48 degrees, according to the NWS.
And the weekend should start on a bright note, with a sunny and breezy Saturday.
