A Fairfield woman was arrested on drunken-driving charges after she hit another car Sunday night about 8:30 p.m.

According to the report, police received several calls about the accident in which Susan Kohn, 40, rear-ended another car at the intersection of Barlow Road and North Benson Road.

After hitting the car, which was turning onto Barlow Road, Kohn continued down North Benson Road, jumped the curb and parked her car on the grass. When police arrived, Kohn, who lives on South Benson Road, was walking away. Asked if she knew what happened, she allegedly told police she did not and insisted she had not been driving the car. She also told police she was a lawyer and was going to call her ex-husband to come pick her up and again tried to walk away from the scene. Witnesses identified Kohn as the driver of the striking vehicle.

Kohn failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence, following too closely and failure to carry a valid insurance card. She was released on a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Dec. 28.
