A Fairfield man was recently honored for his blood donations to the American Red Cross at an on-field ceremony before a recent Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

Kevin Osinski was honored as "Blood Donor of the Game" by the Red Cross and Red Sox during the program after recently donating blood at a Red Cross blood drive.

Osinski was one of the fans selected for the recognition after entering the season-long program.

In addition to winning two tickets to a game at Fenway Park and taking part in an on-the-field ceremony prior to the start of the game, Osinki was presented with a commemorative souvenir of the occasion, according to the Red Cross.

To become a blood donor, a person must be at least 7 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health. Donors are asked to bring a Red Cross blood donor card or other form of identification when planning to donate.
