A fire at a Post Road office building Monday morning was quickly brought under control, though officials said the office of Advantage Staffing suffered extensive damage to the bathroom and smoke and water damage throughout the structure.

Employees of the company at 911 Post Road called the Emergency Communications Center at 8:17 a.m. Monday, reporting an odor of smoke in the building. Upon arrival, firefighters reported smoke in the building and determined that fire was actively burning above the ceiling. Advantage Staffing and adjacent businesses were evacuated.

According to fire officials, all on-duty Fire Department resources were required to fight the fire, which was brought under control around 9 a.m. Adjoining businesses were ventilated by firefighters.

No injuries were reported at the scene, and the Fire Marshal's office is conducting an investigation into the cause.

Four engines and two ladders were dispatched to the fire, which was under the command of Assistant Chief Schuyler Sherwood.
