The Ukrainian American Club was a hive of activity Saturday as its landmark hall hosted the first winter farmers’ market of the season.

A dozen vendors were set up in the 279 King’s Drive space right near the Exit 19 on-ramp to Interstate 95. There were many familiar faces, but also several new ones to the farmers’ market circuit.

In one corner, the Fairfield Bread Company was offering samples of its raisin rye rolls and pretzel bread. In another corner, Mark Mojcher, of Along Came Carol Creative Foods & Catering, spooned out hot soup. If you needed a carton of eggs, Diane Lytwyn of Silver Pond Farm could set you right up. Needed a touch of honey? Sharon Farrell, of Bee Happy, had jars of it. You could have scored some granola, too, from Jen Olbrys of Gluten-Free Granola by Jen.

Missed out on this Market? The group will be in the same spot every Saturday through April 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
